What Can I Do to Support the Law of Attraction while Achieving My Dreams?

June 22nd, 2010 by admin, No Comments »

I am often approached by people who tell me that the Law of Attraction is not working for them. I always ask, “Can you tell me the reason why it isn’t working for you?”

The answer is always the same: “Well, I concentrate on what I want, I visualize and recite affirmations, but nothing happens for me.”

“After you do all of that, what actions are you taking to make this happen?” I say.

“What do you mean?” is the frequent reply.

When it comes to the Law of Attraction, you have to have a plan of action. Before you build a building, you have to have a blueprint. After you have the blueprint, you have to work diligently in order to complete the project. You need to put in the hours to get the foundation done, and build the building from the ground up. The same thing applies to your goals and dreams. You concentrate and visualize, you recite your affirmations — but do you follow through by taking any action?

Let’s say you want to lose some extra pounds. Do you honestly believe that exercise is not necessary? Of course not. You know you need an exercise plan or regimen that you can follow to achieve your best results. You know that just by merely visualizing and affirming you won’t get the results that you’re looking for. You need to exercise, and watch what you eat.

The same is true with anything else you’re trying to achieve. You have to be plugged in mentally, in order to get the ball rolling. You have to set your intention with powerful emotions to keep that ball on course.

It’s true that you need to visualize and affirm that whatever you want is already yours. But if you never make a physical effort, if you don’t follow your intuitions, you will never capitalize on the opportunities the Law of Attraction will bring into your life. You are the one that has to make things happen.

You need to put forth the effort to bring the things into your life that you have already visualized. If you visualize yourself losing weight, you have to exercise. If you visualize yourself getting a better job, you have to apply for a job. If you visualize yourself winning a race, you have to train and practice.

Fulfilling your desires ultimately comes down to the effort you put into it.

How Can I Stop Procrastination?

June 15th, 2010 by admin, No Comments »

About a week ago, I was doing a radio interview and was asked, “how can I stop procrastination?” Unfortunately, I was given about 20 seconds to respond, which didn’t really allow me enough time to expand on this answer, so I ‘d like to do that here.

If you have a problem with procrastination, you are not alone. If I don’t keep myself in check, that is exactly what happens to me. Procrastination is something that most people struggle with. That’s a fact of life. In order to kill procrastination, we need to take action. But how do you do that?

1) Follow a specific routine

In order to get more out of my day, I like to structure my weeks so that I can follow a specific routine which allows me to complete the tasks that I have in front of me. You can start that by making a list of things you have to do for the day.

By doing this, you begin to recognize exactly how much you have on your plate so that you can prioritize. Then, you want to look at your day to find out if you have what I call, “empty spaces.”

Empty spaces are those times in which we are just sitting around without purpose — surfing the Internet or wasting time talking on the phone. The goal is to fill those empty spaces with all the items you wrote down on your list. Determine your empty spaces and start filling them up with the things that you have to do for that day. Again, structure your days and weeks so you have a blueprint to follow efficiently. Find out what you have to do, prioritize those things, make a list, and then find and fill the empty spaces in your schedule.

2) Build a support network

Another important way to beat procrastination is to find someone who can keep you honest about your to-do list — a professional, like a life coach, or anyone who can keep you on course. This will give you the support and encouragement you need to complete whatever is on your plate.

Have a network of these people who can support you — whether it’s a parent, a sister, a friend or spouse — anyone who can touch base with you on what you’ve done for the day or week. Knowing someone is out there to inquire about you and support you will drive you to start crossing items off of that list.

How Can I Lose Weight by Using the Law of Attraction?

June 8th, 2010 by admin, No Comments »

The Law of Attraction can help you lose weight, but not in the way you think.

First, you must remember that the Law of Attraction will attract more of what you focus on the most. For instance, if the first thing you think while looking at yourself in the mirror is “I am overweight,” or “I am fat,” or “I am ugly,” you will bring more of those qualities into your reality.

The fact is, we are all vibrating at different frequency levels, and it’s up to us (depending on our level of consciousness) to tune ourselves to the frequency that we wish to vibrate in. In order to lose those unwanted pounds, you not only have to be willing to do some serious grinding at the gym, but also be willing to expand your consciousness so you can block unwanted beliefs about yourself and start attracting the quality of life that you deserve.

So how do you start?

It is common knowledge that to lose weight, you must follow a nutritional diet, as well as exercise regularly. There is a science to losing weight that cannot be avoided or magically altered. However, there are few things you can do to use the Law of Attraction to your advantage to complement your path to a healthy lifestyle.

1) Exercising Gratitude for Weight Loss

This is perhaps one of the most important, effective exercises that you can do.

Recognize that you are already a wonderful being that God created in His image so that you can experience life on Earth. Feeling grateful is a powerful emotion that gets the wheels turning and pulls you in tune with your desired energy frequency.

Feeling that emotion is actually the driving force behind attracting to us what we’re looking for. By being grateful for what you already have and knowing that you are wonderful already, you are put in the frame of mind to open yourself up to endless possibilities in how you look and feel.

2) Use Law of Attraction Visualizations and Affirmations to Help Weight Loss

Visualize how your ideal body looks and feels. Is it thin, strong, muscular? By doing this, you are actually putting emotions into it, whether you know it or not. When you visualize yourself as healthy, you automatically get a feeling of completion. That feeling acts as a trigger to set the Law of Attraction into motion. Affirmations follow the same premise. Doing affirmations — “Today I am eating healthy,” “I am losing weight,” “I am looking better and better every day” — are phrases that create feelings, which in turn create actions.

Try these two mental exercises in combination with your physical exercises and diet plan. The Law of Attraction can really aid you in helping to lose weight and become your best, healthiest self.

How Do Emotions Affect the Law of Attraction?

June 1st, 2010 by admin, No Comments »

Typically, when we talk about the Law of Attraction, we think about how our thoughts create our reality — how important it is not only to guard our thoughts from negative chatter, but to also practice visualizations and positive affirmations in order to achieve what we want. What some people find hard to grasp is, it is also the feeling of whatever it is that we want that creates reality.

For example, let’s say you want to buy a new home. You carry around a picture of your dream home in hopes of materializing it. The truth is, the feeling involved with the picture is what actually helps you create the reality. Our realities are caused by the specific thought and feeling we apply to the energy around us. If we want to create our own reality, we must get in touch with our true feelings and emotions in order to start vibrating at a frequency to attract good things to us.

Negative Emotions Can Affect the Law of Attraction

But any kind of emotion is not good enough, as negative emotions can greatly impact your success with the Law of Attraction. If you subconsciously focus on a worry or an aspect of your life that is causing you stress, it can often cause tension, not only in the mind, but in the body. This tension is caused by an internal buildup of negative emotions which can actually make us physically sick and start attracting more negative things into our lives. Instead of vibrating on the frequency of positivity, you will be vibrating on the same level with the people and things you actually don’t want in your life at all.

Another emotion to watch out for is anger. Think about people who seem constantly angry about something. Don’t they always seem to be attracting situations that are continually fueling that anger? They are always finding reasons to justify their rage — hating people, being the “victim,” casting blame, etc. They think validation will relieve that anger, but instead it just perpetuates that cycle. Whether they know it or not, they are actually inviting situations that cause them to become angry by focusing energy on these situations. They’re attracting people as angry as they are, and finding themselves in whatever events or activities are vibrating at that level of negativity and anger.

Remember this when you go through your visualizations and affirmations. You may not realize that you are letting negative emotions sneak in, even with your best intentions. Statements that seem positive to you (i.e. “I desire a mate who will not cheat on me”) actually carry strong negative emotions. Any time that happens, try to positively flip those affirmations to what you really want (i.e. “I Always make the right decisions, therefore I attract to me a mate who is faithful and trustworthy.”) to really see the Law of Attraction go into action.

Practicing the Law of Attraction Does Not Mean You Can Start Coasting

May 28th, 2010 by admin, 3 Comments »

Sometimes clients ask me, “If I’m practicing the Law of Attraction, does that mean I can stop working on my business now?”

Unfortunately, with a lot of myths floating around about the Law of Attraction, people are led to believe this to be true: that the Law of Attraction is some sort of Universal get rich quick scheme. This is completely wrong.

The principles of the Law of Attraction will bring specific people or situations into your life, but you must do something to make that happen. You can’t expect everything to fall out of the sky and into your lap. On other words, you must take action in order to bring the things you desire to you.

Sometimes, this is a hard step to take, but you can’t skip it. You can sit around writing down your goals and delving into you subconscious mind, but if you don’t start chipping away at those goals, you will never accomplish anything.

Some people procrastinate because they want things to be perfect. “I don’t want to open this business until I have this much money.” The money never comes, and they keep pushing that goal to the back burner. The fact is, there will always be something that isn’t quite perfect. You have to be a doer. The more you put things off, the weaker the idea becomes, and the more excuses you will find not to get it done.

Let’s say I want to be a swimmer. I can sit here and visualize myself swimming, feel the water on my skin, hear the national anthem as I’m winning the goal medal at the Olympics. That’s all fine and good, but if I never get in the pool and start doing laps, it will never happen.

You can get started on it by doing something as minor as contacting the people who might be in a network of swimmers. Maybe you attract someone who knows a swimming coach. The Law of Attraction brought that person to you, but it cannot make you speak with that person and use them to reach your goals. That’s up to you.

Consistent visualization, prayer, and mediation are all essential parts of bringing good things into your life. However, you need to have the courage to respond to them when you bring them about. Remember, nothing good comes easy. Anything worthwhile takes work.

4 Ways Parents Can Teach Their Children about the Law of Attraction

May 25th, 2010 by admin, 3 Comments »

Children and teens are prime candidates for the Law of Attraction. Why? Their minds, for the most part, are not filled with all the worries, doubts, and negative garbage that adults manifest in the Universe. Bills, mortgage payments, jobs — these are not things children have to concern themselves with.

Think about how different would your life have been if your parents introduced the Law of Attraction to you as a child. How would the world be, if all children were taught this Law at home? I believe it would not only make stronger families, but a better world.

Here are a few ways you can introduce the Law of Attraction to your kids.

1) Lead by Example

Stay optimistic. Meditate frequently. Live a life that you can be proud of. Your children are always looking up to you; you are their role model. They will emulate your behavior and pick up your attitude. Show them how you want them to live by living it yourself.

2) Educate Your Children about How Their Thoughts Affect Their Behavior

While the Law of Attraction can seem complex to adults, children often easily grasp its simplicity. Explain what the Law of Attraction means to you, and how it’s benefited you in your daily life. By educating them on the Law of Attraction, you can awaken their sense of awareness of their thoughts, which is the first step in successfully living by the Law.

3) Create a Vision Board

Vision boards are a fun and easy way to introduce the Law of Attraction to your kids. What do they want to accomplish? What things would they like to have? Collect a bunch of kid- and family-friendly magazines and have them cut out images and words that resonate with their goals and dreams. Place your findings on a board and hang it where it can be viewed frequently. Each time they achieve something on the board, put a check mark next to it. That check mark will do even more to instill a deeper sense of self-confidence, empowering your child to attract more of what he or she wants.

4) Show Support

Be a champion of your child’s journey. You are their #1 fan, so make sure they know that. When you see them implementing the Law of Attraction in their daily thoughts and actions, give them praise.

Children are like sponges when it comes to learning. They pick up new skills, new sports, and even new languages at a young age. By introducing them to the Law of Attraction, you can teach them a whole new way of thinking.

What Effect Does Stress Have on the Law of Attraction?

May 18th, 2010 by admin, No Comments »

Stress is a feeling that’s created when we react to particular events. It’s true that there are certain situations where stress is good, and even critical — slamming on the brakes, for instance. That acute reaction to stress is what keeps you from colliding with another car.

Another more mild form of stress is where you feel the pressure is on, but there is no imminent danger, like stepping up to score the winning penalty kick in a soccer game. In this case, stress is good because it keeps you on point and ready to rise up to a challenge. Any good athlete uses stress to drive them forward to overcome any obstacle they may face.

However, we all have known times when stress doesn’t happen in response to something immediate. It may occur as a result of long-term events, like coping with divorce, moving to a new neighborhood, starting a new job, or worrying about losing a job. That is the type of stress we don’t want, as it can have a significant impact on the Law of Attraction.

Why is that? Because, as we know, thoughts are things and what we cultivate in our subconscious mind is what we manifest into our reality. In other words, when we let negative or stressful thoughts into our conscious mind, these thoughts become firmly entrenched in our subconscious mind.

The more we believe an idea to be true, the more we tap into that energy in the Universe, creating more of what we do not want in our lives. That is, if we focus on stressful things, we essentially bring more of those stressful things to us.

You may notice a snowball effect, like seeing someone’s stress begin as something very minor, but then watching it grow. As it gets bigger, it continues to create more and more of that chaotic energy in their lives.

We are psycho-physical entities, meaning the mind affects the body, and the body affects the mind. Therefore, when faced with a stressful situation, your body doesn’t know what the facts are — it’s reacting to your thoughts and moods in order to find that balance between mind and body.

A great example is people who are overweight. They may focus on the fact that they are heavy, that they feel heavy, and they can’t do the things they want to do in their lives. By manifesting this idea within their subconscious, they are, in fact, keeping themselves heavy.

Instead, they should focus on the lightness of being, and the freedom of their body moving through the world, whatever size it may be. The more you think the negative thoughts, the more your subconscious is going to bring those negative things into your life.

What Does It Mean When the Law of Attraction Doesn’t Work?

May 11th, 2010 by admin, 6 Comments »

Does it mean the Law of Attraction has failed you, when you have been praying and meditating, but don’t receive the things you’ve asked for?

No, not at all. It means that you are either asking for the wrong things, or you’re not ready for the thing you’re asking for. Nothing happens by chance in this life. Anything that occurs does so because you have sent that signal into the Universe, and the Universe is responding by bringing more of that energy to you.

Here’s a great example: my friend wanted to manifest for himself a nice, new BMW. He was consistently visualizing and keeping optimistic in his daily life. He did his daily affirmations and had visual cues of the car all over his home. And wouldn’t you know it, one day, he got the car. He put all this focus and all of his intentions into this car, and in the end, he materialized the car. He knew that because he was working so hard on this and he had faith that he was going to get it.

Sounds good, right? Except, it wasn’t good for my friend.

He knew he was not in the right financial situation to buy a BMW. He didn’t know how he was going get one. He just focused on obtaining the car in whatever way was necessary. However, once he got his dream car, he stopped implementing the Law of Attraction. He started worrying about his job and his personal relationships, and he started creating more chaos in his life.

All of these worries began popping into his head and it threw him off point. He lacked the consistency he had with manifesting the BMW, and his life started to unravel. He lost his job and couldn’t make the payments on his new car, which he eventually had to give up.

My friend realized that just as he had brought the car into his life, he also pushed the car out of his life, because he had lost focus on the positive and let the negative overtake him. Once he became aware of this, he started applying the Law of Attraction to every aspect of his life and, in the end, found balance.

He told me later that he knew he wasn’t meant to have the car in the first place, but his ego convinced him otherwise. Eventually he bought a new car, one he paid for in cash and was practical for his life. He saw this as a gift, because although the car was not a BMW, he didn’t have to stress out about making payments on this car.

This story can remind us that if we don’t receive something, then it was not meant to be. You need to be aware of what you’re thinking, and let God do the work of knowing what is the best option for you.

That’s why I tell clients to be sure to include the key phrase “or better” in their affirmations, as in, “please manifest this, or better.”

What you are doing is asking the Universe to give you that which you desire, or is a better fit for your life. For my friend, “or better” would not have been a better car than a BMW, but a car that was better for his life. One that didn’t cause any stress or cause him to lose his job or harm relationships.

“Or better” will help you offset whatever comes into your life and to help you recognize that what is actually best for you may be even better than you could ever imagine.

Five Things You Must Know about the Law of Attraction

April 30th, 2010 by admin, No Comments »

There are many myths around the Internet regarding the Law of Attraction. Buying into some of these ideas can actually hamper your success. What’s at the core of the Law of Attraction? What are the best practices you should follow?

I recently found a blog post on the Law of Attraction Tutor about Five Things to know about the Law of Attraction, which got me to thinking about what I believe about it.

Here are five important things I think everyone needs to know about the Law of Attraction:

1) Awareness

You cannot do ANYTHING until you take control of your mind. It’s really the only quality we have that nobody else has, that nobody can take that away from us. We can decide what we choose to listen to, or not. That is the power of awareness. You need to be conscious of the thoughts that you are letting into your subconscious mind.

2) Avoid Limiting Beliefs

The LOA Tutor lists this as his #5 belief, but I think it’s one of the most important ones: Once you become aware, you are able to neutralize the limited beliefs. You know when something bad comes into your mind, you can diffuse it by not letting it set in your mind. Many times, this means that you need to get rid of the perceptions and preconceived notions things you were exposed to early in your life.

3) Setting Clear Intention

The next step in applying the law of attraction is knowing exactly what you want. When you set an intention, you need to be very specific. You also need to be very positive. If you are visualizing something and simultaneously feeling negative energy about something surrounding that thing, you are actually giving power to the negative thought. By telling the Universe exactly what you want, you are instructing it on where you are headed and how it can support you in getting there.

4) Taking Action

You have the Law of Attraction, but you also must consider the Law of Actions. You have to take action. I can sit here and talk about all the things I want to be, such as, “I want to be an Olympic champion.” Unfortunately, there is no way I’m going to become an Olympic champion if I don’t lift any weights. It’s just not going to happen. I’m not going to make the Olympics if I’m not practicing any sports. I can visualize myself playing basketball and making three-pointers every time, but if I never go to the court to put in some time and effort into what I want to be, it will not come to be.

5) History of Law of Attraction

The LOA Tutor reminds us that the true Law of Attraction is not a flash-in-the-pan idea. It has actually been around for quite a while, some say as far as 100 years back. Self-help books from 50 – 75 years ago teach the principles of the Law of Attraction that are presented today as being brand new. The long history behind the Law of Attraction is a testament to the success that people have found with it, when they’ve learned how to apply it correctly in their lives.

How Can the Law of Attraction Help Me with Personal Relationships?

April 27th, 2010 by admin, 1 Comment »

The Law of Attraction gives to you what you most strongly focus upon, whether wanted or unwanted. The same is true for your partner. The Law of Attraction will give you everything you desire by either creating a stronger connection with your present partner (or whomever it is you are trying to connect with) or aligning you with a person who vibrates in the same frequency that you are vibrating in.

This means that if you are not meant to be with a specific person, it will never happen, because you’re not both vibrating on that same frequency.

If you focus so much on attracting the love which you desire, you will find it. It will materialize in your life. The Universe will either align you with your partner, or it will find the person that is the best for you, a new partner. You have to allow the Law of Attraction to do its job and set you up with the experiences you are putting your focus on. The Universe knows what is best for us, and if we act with faith and trust, we will receive it.

Many people only know about the Law of Attraction because of movie, “The Secret.” In a way, it’s a good movie because it helped people learn about the Law of Attraction. But at the same time, it’s fairly elementary. People think, “Oh, if I do A, then B will happen.”

There’s a lot more to it than what they show in the movie. This is certainly the case with the Law of Attraction and how it relates to personal relationships.

For example, it is impossible to create an experience for another person. I might say, “I want Cindy to be with me,” but if she doesn’t want to be with me, I cannot make her. I can visualize her being with me all day long, but then I won’t be open to all the possibilities that the universe can give me. Because the universe might give me something better.

That’s why, when you do affirmations, you say, “Give me this, or better.” When you say “better,” you’re opening yourself up to everything that the universe can provide. If Cindy is not good for me, and God knows best — God knows what’s good for me — it’s not going to happen. He’s going to give me what is best for me.

If it’s going to happen, it’s going to happen. If it’s not, God is going to give me what’s best for me.
